Project Case Histories:

We designed and supervised the development of a large website for the Midwest branch of a national not-for-profit financial organization. It is a project in process. Some details about that project:

• Designed overall structure, layout and esthetics of this 5,000 plus page site
• Designed Style Sheets to allow formatting of hundreds of pages at a time.
• Implemented a security system so that private sections of the could only be viewed by the 6,800 members of the organization. Each member has an individual log on ID and password.
• Database: Implemented an on-line searchable database that allows members to easily find other members with specific qualifications.
• Implemented new-member data entry form to allow the easy addition of new members to the database. It e-mail a completed record to the site administrator.
• Made site easy to maintain by the owners of the site.

Revamped the website of the Chicago IMC. Goal was to increase loading speed of the pages, allow keyword searching of the whole site, add event pages and calendar, put the membership list into an easy to maintain database format, allow members to enter the text for their own web pages and increase the visibility of site to search engines. Some details:

• Migrated membership list to low cost external database application provider.
• Developed input form for membership data entry so that each member could have their own web page.
• Added whole site search engine provided by external application provider.
• Eliminated unneeded graphic elements to reduce page size and replaced with type elements to increase search engine recognition.
• Added descriptive and keyword meta-tags to all pages to increase search engine recognition.
• Eliminated Javascript and replaced with style sheet menu elements.
• Added new pages for monthly events.
